I am Katlyn Beach, to my friends and family I am known as a DIY fanatic, style seeker and a bit of a foodie. I have strong southern roots thanks to my wonderful family and am a beach girl by blood. My heart was even stolen by Mr. Beach who is now husband! My husband, Bryce and I currently live in my hometown Sarasota, Florida. I always say I grew up in Florida but was raised in Richmond, Virginia. I studied Fashion Merchandising at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Transitioning Your Favorite Fall Pieces Into Spring: GIVEAWAY of a free watch with Jord Watches

We all have those pieces we want to wear year round. It doesn't matter if you wear all black, have a coastal style or want to be decked out in sweats + comfys. It happens to the best of us ladies- we sit there trying to transition our closet from season to season and you get the overwhelming feeling of remorse and guilt for having to put away some of your favorite pieces. I recently changed my closet over because let's face it, I live in Florida and it gets hot, quick! I decided to keep a certain amount of fall pieces that would blend well with several outfits and be able to be paired with lighter options once I mixed and matched. I have been a big fan of leopard ever since the 90s, yeah the 90s! My mom had these huge, oversized pillows that were leopard and I always wanted to steal them and have them in my room. It only felt right to pull a few leopard pieces over to spring as I know I can wear them with an oversized white tee and some boyfriend jeans.

My Spring Ulta Beauty Haul

This weekend I headed over to my local ULTA BEAUTY. Now, ladies, I do have to admit I am an Ulta girl over Sephora. I find that I get better deals at Ulta plus I love that I can get a wide range of "drugstore products," hair products, spa products and the hardest area to resist, the impulse section. Ladies, you know what I am talking about- the small travel size products that just happen to be placed right near check out. Well, I am a huge sucker for that section! But honestly, I find that is a great way to try new products especially for someone like myself who is a bit sensitive to new skin care products. Anyway, let me get to the best part of this post which is sharing what I recently got! Some items are my must-haves and some items are new products that I really wanted to try. Nordstom 2017 Anniversary Sale

It's the best time of year y'all! Nordstrom is one of my favorite stores to shop for my staple pieces. I try and wait until this particular sale to grab items that will help get me through the fall season. Every July it is like Nordstrom blesses us with Christmas. Hallelujah! If you are a card holder you can get early access to the sale not only online, but in store as well. Early access gets you in the doors to pre shop the sale from July 13th- 20th. This gives you a wonderful opportunity to shop the sale before it is open to the public. Now the sale is open to all! 

Launch of Magnolia + Beach Design Co.

Words cannot describe how excited and proud I am to officially launch my design company. Being creative and constantly having paint all over my hands brings me so much joy. As a child, I always loved arts and crafts and really have my grandmother to thank for that. Over the past few years, I have found myself diving into several creative projects when I got home from work. Spending my downtime creating something that will last a lifetime is something that really makes me feel I have a purpose. When I was planning our wedding I found myself doing any project I found would fit with our theme.

My Favorite Time of the Year: Peony Season

You know it is peonies season when you start to see your Instagram feed blow up with photos of beautiful blooms. Peonies (as well as Magnolias) are my favorite flower. I always seem to forget these beautiful blooms are not available year round. Peony season usually runs from April until June and your blooms will typically last around ten days. Last year when I was planning our wedding I knew I wanted Peonies to be the main flower. In the back of my mind, I knew there was a certain time of the year the flowers were available and I just knew our wedding date in September was not going to fit that time frame.  Fortunately, we had a wonderful florist for our special day who helped me get the look I was after with large garden roses in white. I found the large roses gave off a look of peonies, so if you find yourself in a pickle like I did, you will find the roses to be a great alternative.
